Ethan really wanted to get in the kitchen and help with some holiday treats. I always love watching him get into cooking.
We took to the ‘net, and he settled on these cuties.
I thought he did really good! He was super proud of himself too!

Melty Snowman Cookie Balls Recipe
You’ve no doubt seen those popular Pinterest Fails pictures floating around. Honestly, I was kind of afraid when Ethan decided to make this Snowman Cookie Balls Recipe that we were next going to be posting over there. Because let’s face it … #CookingUpGood can turn into #PinterestFail real quick. We found this recipe on the Walmart Recipe Hub. He insisted on doing this one all on his own since it’s an easy no bake holiday recipe. I had to stand back, cheer him on and hope for the best. I think he did an awesome job! He was super proud of himself and everyone else agreed as they popped them into their mouths. We’re starting a second batch later today. This cookie balls recipe is that god! Let me show you what he did!
Cookie Balls Recipe
INGREDIENTS:
- 1 Package Cream Cheese (softened)
- 3 Cups Peanut Butter Cookie (finely crushed)
- 12 OZ Baker’s White Chocolate (melted for dipping)
- 48 Mini Oreos
- Decorating Icing (we used gel type)
DIRECTIONS:
To start the cookie balls recipe, we’re going to mix our cream cheese and chopped peanut butter cookie crumbs in a medium sized bowl. Make sure it’s really well combined. Roll 1 inch sized balls out of this dough. Place them on some wax paper. Pop in freezer for 10-15 minutes. This will make about 48 balls.
Melt your chocolate and roll each ball until completely covered. Place on wax paper. Place 1 oreo on top of each cookie ball and allow to cool. As they cool, a small pool of chocolate will form under each, giving the ‘melty snowman’ look.
Once they are dry and cool, use decorator gel to paint a face. Refrigerate until ready to eat.
**Cookie Balls Recipe Helpful Tip
We realized after making 2 faces, the gel was really dark and you couldn’t tell any difference in the colors on the face. Use a cotton swab dipped in water. This thinned it out and softened the colors. It also made drawing the face on easier for small hands.
