Snackadium – Last Minute Game Day Appetizers
It’s here! The Big Game! We’ve got a full house coming over and yes! I had to give the ole Stackadium a try! I was a bit worried. Being that I’m not so inventive. And, my beloved Bears are once again not playing. But you know what? The commercials, they will always pull me through! I mean, once your team is out, that’s really what it’s all about, right? Well, that and the food of course! I’ve got a whole host of awesome appetizers ready to go. I’m way better at feeding a crowd snack-y food than a whole meal while their eyes are glued to the TV. But, this year, I really wanted to put a super cool Snackadium out. I’ve seen them everywhere online. But, do I have time? We’re cutting it pretty close, huh? Let’s see…
Snackadium – Supplies
From all the pretty Pinterest pics, I was able to come up with a quick outline and short list of supplies to make the snackadium.
Here’s what you’ll need to make the base of your snackadium:
- 1 disposable cookie sheet for the field. (I used the tray from my toaster oven!!)
- 6 disposable loaf pans to ring the field as stands. Cut off the front of the pan, leaving a short ‘lip’ to make the stands. Use more or less depending on how big you want yours to be.
- 4 square containers placed at the corners to hold dip.
And, then there’s the food. What to fill it with?
Because we’re working against the clock, I knew I needed something quick but tasty! These TGI Friday’s appetizers looked perfect! I grabbed the Frozen Chicken Wings with Honey BBQ Sauce and Loaded Cheddar & Bacon Potato Skins. Who doesn’t love that? Walmart had the value size for only $6.97 a box! If you’re going for a big Snackadium, grab 2. I had 1 of each and they worked awesome!
In the center tray, I whipped up some homemade Guacamole, spread it out and used sour cream to make the yard lines. Easy peasy. For ‘players’ we used cherry tomatoes and green olives. Then, it was just a matter of filling up the sides! TGI Fridays made an awesome ‘Skins’ VS ‘Wings. Each on opposite sides of the field. We used different chips and dips for the stadium seats. And finally, buttered and regular popcorn for the upper stands! Talk about fun, quick, last minute appetizers! You guys!! I made a Snackadium in less than 30 minutes!
Here’s a close up of my ‘Wings’ team. It works out really great when you’re done, just throw the foil away! Let’s face it. There’s a ton of people coming to watch the Big Game, right? The less time I spend in the kitchen, the happier I’ll be!
Close up of my ‘Skins’ team. I could eat all of these by myself if no one was watching. Cheesy, bacon-y goodness! They stack up really well in the loaf pans. I think they were perfect! I threw the TGI Friday’s appetizer in the oven while I whipped up the Guac. They were both done in about 15 minutes. And BAM! Snackadium was set! If I were to change just 1 thing about the set-up, I’d add my Sriracha Garlic Brussel Sprouts as 1 of the snack items. These have become such a huge hit and would add a healthy food to the mix.
See! You do still have time to whip up a Snackadium for your Game Day Party tomorrow! And! TGI Friday’s are having in-store demos at local Walmarts thru 2/2! Go, grab yourself a few boxes and build one for your guests to enjoy!
