Tips From Sassy – Cat Health and Happiness – My Way
I’m baaaack! Remember me? Sassy, The Cat? I was here a couple weeks ago talking to you about all the silly Cat Bearding shenanigans going around. We need to talk again. Today, we’re going to discuss Cat Health and Happiness. And, how I make my humans spoil take care of me. Go grab some pen and paper, I’ll tease the dog while I wait….
Cat Health and Happiness – What To Eat
First, let’s talk cat food. Cat health starts with a good quality food. Quality food is made with real protein, no grains or corn. Just so happens… I get Sheba Cat Food, which fits the bill! And, it tastes awesome too. Which helps with the whole happiness part. I get 1 can every morning. Then, the rest of the day I have dry food in my feeder. I keep that way high up so those pesky dogs stay out of it. The morning can gets me all the good stuff we need for continued cat health and the dry food keeps my teeth healthy and my belly full. Also, fresh water you guys! Don’t just fill up 1 of those huge jugs that lasts tiny peeps like me a week to go through. I know it’s easier for you. But, have you ever had to drink week old stagnant water? Blech… New stuff everyday, M’kay?
So, I was watching TV awhile back. I saw this really pretty cat who got to eat out of a super fancy dish. I totally deserve to eat out of a fancy dish! Part of good cat health is… happiness! I thought this would make me very happy. The man, he didn’t think so. Not right away anyways. I had to put on my best convincing face and really let him know, I needed my Sheba served in a fancy dish. I totally won.
Cat Health and Happiness – What To Do
Also important is exercise. And while chasing the dogs around the house can be fun, and great exercise, I also need to tap into my primal instincts. Sure, I’m a classy gal and fully domesticated. But cat health and happiness also comes from climbing, pouncing, stalking prey (insert dogs tail here) I have a huge scratching posts with a hide-y hole and multiple levels. We keep it right in front of a window. I climb up, watch the birds outside and get a bit of sun in. Bringin’ the outdoors in just a bit. And, I do love my alone time, all that rubbing on your leg I do, it’s my attempt at getting some attention. Playtime!! Grab some string, let me swat it around. A tiny stuffed mouse to bat around maybe. All great fun for me! I know that you already know to get us felines regular vet checks, right? If we’re looking a bit off… maybe not eating or drinking like normal, it’s a sign of bad cat health. Could just be an upset tummy. Could be something more. But let’s get those check-ups in on the reg! Oh! And safety first you guys! Don’t ever, ever, ever de-claw me and my peeps! I know we’re indoor animals. I know you love your couch. But, if we somehow get stuck outside on the wrong side of the door we are totally in trouble without claws! Back to that scratching post idea and save the couch and my claws! Just keep an eye on the door and we’ll be fine.
And finally… my diet. A lady has to keep her girlish figure. And the guys, they don’t really need big pot bellies either. Stick with quality cat food. Sheba even has a coupon right now Buy 6 Get 1 Free. It’s up on their website right now. Print that out and get your furry friend on the right path to great cat health and happiness!
So, tell me… What’s your tips for good cat health and happiness?

We have 3 cats, and I feel that keeping them active is so important to keeping them healthy and happy. We mostly use dry food, wet food is more of a treat. I may rethink this now.

What a cute cat! I miss having cats, my daughter is too allergic.

Sassy sure is quite a character! I really like the Sheba cat food for our cat. he adores it too! But he is seriously not a dainty eater. He doesn’t get the fancy dish to eat out of. lol. But he loves his Sheba all the same.

I should totally give my daughter’s cat a fancy serving dish like that. She thinks she’s quite the diva as well. My daughter didn’t declaw her either.
