Halloween Party Ideas Green Zombie Trifle & Bloody Hand Party Punch
Got enough Halloween Party Ideas for your big ghoulish bash to be a smashing good time? No? Perfect! I’ve got 2 awesome sauce recipes coming your way today. 1st, a quick back story on how we picked these two. It’s cute! The 1st Wednesday of every month, Ethan goes to ‘Breakfast & A Bookworm’ before school. The teacher reads all the kiddies a book while they eat breakfast. Afterwards, they get to pick a book to keep and take home. Since his dream (this month) is to be America’s next Top Chef, and we’re hooked on all the cooking shows (Chopped is our favorite!) this month he picked a kid’s Halloween cookbook. We always try to let him help out in the kitchen. So, when I told him I needed to make some Party Punch and Halloween Treats using candy, he ran to get his new cookbook. The 2 Halloween Party Ideas are all him you guys!! He’s so proud of himself. After I finish typing this up, I promised to tell everyone on Facebook and the people in China (yeah, not sure why he included that specifically either) all about them. So, help me spread the word for him!! But mostly, enjoy his ghoulish creations!
Halloween Party Ideas – Bloody Hand Party Punch
Creepy cool, right?? This is your basic party punch recipe, just turned up a notch. It’s wicked fun to add to your Halloween Party Ideas list! Also, we discovered the adults were completely amused by this just as much as the small frys! Not only does it bubble and froth, but when the hand starts to melt it turns the punch red. Just like a bleeding hand! Here’s how this works –
Since my husband is a paramedic, we have tons of gloves laying around.. But, you probably don’t, huh? You can grab some for super cheap at any pharmacy, even Walmart! For those with latex allergies, get a box of allergen free. Also important, make sure they are powder free. Because… eeewww. You need to fill your glove with Hawaiian Punch Juicy Red. It would be easier for 2 people to accomplish this. But, 1 of us had to hold the camera. The funnel worked great if you’re doing this alone. After your glove is filled, rubber band the open end shut. Make sure it’s super duper tight or your freezer will be a leaking bloody mess! Also important for this to work, freeze the glove with the fingers pointing up. We propped it between the sherbet carton and a package of ground beef. Whatever works my friends!
Leave the bloody hand in the freezer to freeze over night. Right before you’re ready to serve and show your guests your mad Halloween party ideas and skills, carefully cut open the glove. Start with the tip where the rubber band is and make a slit up the side. We found that running it under cold water kept it from sticking so the fingers don’t break off, although that could be a cool effect too!
Let’s get this party started! While you’re freezing the bloody hand, you can also freeze a handful or so of green grapes. Ethan added this part to the recipe in the cookbook because he thought they would look like eyeballs. Throw those in a punch bowl, pour a bottle of 7-UP right over them. Now add Sherbet. This is where the frothing comes from. So, while you want a good amount to make the Halloween party punch nice and creamy, add it slowly so it doesn’t go frothing mad over the sides. Add your frozen bloody hand and Ta-Da!! Instant coolness! Our hand took a dunk under the liquid when we 1st put it in and we thought for sure it was going to sink. It popped right back up and all was perfect! Serve immediately! As the hand starts to melt, the punch slowly turns red like the hand is really bleeding! You know you want to try it, don’t ya?!
Halloween Party Ideas Green Zombie Trifle
To make the Green Zombie Trifle, start by making the Pistachio Jello and let that set-up for a couple hours. Chop up your Snickers bars. In a chilled bowl, whip 1 cup of heavy cream, 3 TBS powdered Sugar and 1/2 TSP of Vanilla until you get stiff peaks. Don’t break your arm, use a stand mixer! Ethan wanted to do it by hand and be all Top Chef Champion, but we talked him out of it. When you’re ready to serve, grab a sponge cake and place that on the bottom of a bowl. Then simply build your Zombie trifle! Add a dollop of pudding on top of the cake. Then a dollop of whipped cream on top of that. Decorate with your chopped up Snickers! And, to be super festive… DON’T forget the orange & black sprinkles!
And, there you have it! 2 Uh.Maze.Ing Halloween party ideas. All made by America’s next Top Chef! Super cute, right?
